About The Institution

Pace University is based in the New York metropolitan area with campuses in New York City and Westchester County. Founded in 1906, its 257-acre campus is urban and ideally located for students wishing to explore New York.

To enable students, the university has a shuttle service, which provides transportation between the New York City, White Plains, and Pleasantville-Briarcliff campuses. The two main campuses, offer opposing university experiences. The New York City campus – amid the bustle of Manhattan’s Financial District – whereas the Westchester campus located about 30 miles away, students can enjoy a suburban lifestyle. 

There are a variety of subjects on offer, which include: accounting, biochemistry, computer science, economics, environmental studies, forensic science, information technology, and musical theatre.

In addition, Pace has affiliated schools, which include: Pace University School of Law, whose environmental law program is well regarded, the Lienhard School of Nursing, the Lubin School of Business, and The Actors Studio MFA programme. 

The Michael Schimmel Centre for the Arts is the main theatre of Pace University and is located at the university’s New York City campus. With 750 seats, the centre is home to the television show Inside the Actors Studio hosted by James Lipton.

Each campus also has its own selection of student organisations, including many different fraternities and sororities.

Nicknamed the Setters, sports teams at the university compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II across 14 intercollegiate varsity sports. Sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, lacrosse and swimming & diving, cheerleading, dance, soccer, softball and volleyball.

To facilitate the sports teams, there is a 29,000-square-foot Goldstein Health, Fitness and Recreation Centre, which boasts a 2,400-seat arena, eight-lane swimming pool, weight/fitness room, aerobics/dance room, training room, and offices of the athletics department.

Notable alumni of Pace University include James Quinn, former president of Tiffany & Co., Ivan Seidenberg, former CEO of Verizon Communications Inc, and Diana Elizabeth Scarwid, an American actress with an Academy Award nomination to her name.
